Welcome to the ICA Velocity news web page! With so many events happening at ICA on a weekly basis, we hope to keep you updated on our exciting and unique perspectives on what’s going on!
The ICA school year has started out quite well! With nearly 115 students, every classroom is full of life and learning. From the preschool students, who are beginning to discover a world of colors, shapes, senses, numbers, and so much more, to the elementary students, who are growing in their knowledge of science, language, music, and math, the youngest students at ICA are well on their way to achieving great things.
The secondary students at ICA began their school year with 2 days of camp. Each team tried its hardest–pushing forward, racing through games of Tennis Ball 500 and Capture the Flag, using math skills to build bridges, and playing endless rounds of Crazy Tic Tac Challenge. By the end of the first day, the Green Team was leading…but not for long!
Day two of school camp started out with an intense game of school-wide hide and seek, followed by a challenging message from Pastor Joe Fant from Indianapolis. The afternoon proved to be another succession of crazy fun with Magic Carpet Rides, Team Commercial Challenge, and more Tic Tac Challenges. As the students wrapped up their day, they enjoyed a hot dog and marshmallow roast, followed by a time of testimonies, songs, and a brief challenge from Mr. Plew.
After the judging (via Facebook), the Yellow Team was declared the winner! (Checkout the videos on ICA’s Facebook page today!) The students left for home, full of joy (and marshmallows) and encouraged by the new friends made at camp.
With the promise of busy weeks of learning, fun, and activities ahead, ICA’s students are enjoying these beginning weeks very much. Keep working hard, studying hard, and playing hard, students! Here’s to a great year!
