ICA Students Enjoy Summer Trip

incentive-trip1Twelve students from Indiana Christian Academy enjoyed a hard-earned reward this past Thursday: a trip to King’s Island. These 7-12th grade students had maintained a high grade point average or had significantly improved their grade point average this past spring semester at the Academy. Accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ascher, the groggy group left at the early hour of 7am Thursday morning. But sleepy spirits soon began to soar–literally!–as the students climbed to new heights on the roller coasters and rides at the park.

Aubré Metzger, a senior, said, “It was the highlight of my summer! It was so fun to hang out with my friends and ride the wildest rides!” Aubré was the only student brave enough to ride the newest, scariest ride, The Diamondback.

“I think all of the kids had a great time,” Mr. Ascher remarked. “We all did a lot of walking which translated into blisters for many of us.  Everyone was pretty exhausted on the way home! There was not a person (besides me!) who wasn’t sleeping on the van ride back to Anderson. It was a great bunch of kids to take.”

Each semester, Indiana Christian Academy encourages its secondary students to maintain high GPAs or to significantly improve upon low GPAs by offering such incentive trips. Congratulations to each student, those who were able to partake in the trip, and the others, who earned the trip, but were unable to go. Keep those spirits high! School begins next month!
