Overview

History

overview-1As a ministry of Grace Baptist Church of Anderson, Indiana Christian Academy was founded in 1973 by Dr. Don Camp. The school is governed by the constitution and by laws of Grace Baptist Church.

The Academy is a member of the Indiana Association of Christian Schools and its parent organization, the American Association of Christian Schools.

In its thirty-sixth year of existence, many cosmetic changes have taken place at our school, but the foremost purpose of ICA remains to develop Christ-like character in the life of each student. God’s Word stands as the absolute upon which all academics and activities can be solidly built.

history-1Next, ICA strives for academic excellence and also a balanced training in the social and physical aspects of life. Luke 2:52 recounts that “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” It remains the desire of our staff to develop well-rounded Christians who can cope with the many pressures of today’s society and culture.

It is to these tremendous goals that we at ICA dedicate ourselves. As we strive to honor God by “approving things that are excellent,” we are confident that He will abundantly bless.

Mission and Purpose

mission-1Our Mission Statement is to Love our students while Challenging them academically in a Christian atmosphere.

We seek to work in cooperation with the family and local Bible-believing church to educate children and teenagers in truth and righteousness. Through the excellent combination of biblically based curriculum, godly Christian teachers, and well-planned complementary activities, we seek to prepare students for further education and success in a God-honoring vocation.

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings, and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:19 21
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT. Exodus 20:2-3; I Corinthians 8:6
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. Isaiah 7:14; John 1:14
  4. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. Romans 5:10 19; Genesis 3:1 6, 24
  5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. I Corinthians 15:1 4; Romans 5:1 11
  6. statement-of-faith-1We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate. Matthew 28; I Corinthians 15
  7. We believe in “the blessed hope,” the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 4:13 18; Hebrews 9:28
  8. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. John 1:12; 3:16
  9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting joy of the saved and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost. I Thessalonians 4:13; I Corinthians 15:51-53

Administration

Faculty and Staff

faculty-1Indiana Christian Academy’s faculty, staff, and administrators are more than just educated individuals seeking to impart their knowledge; they are dedicated Christians with hearts committed to serving Christ, serving others, and serving their students. By bringing Christ-like love into every classroom, the education our faculty offers far surpasses that which other schools boast. This love, combined with decades of experience and higher education, are what set our faculty apart. Our teachers’ lives are themselves a testimony of God’s goodness and grace, and it is that same testimony that we seek to bring into every aspect of our education-endeavoring to impact each student for eternity.

This pledge is made by every teacher to his/her students and signed at the beginning of the school year. Every week teachers recite this pledge and remind themselves of their commitment to love their students.

Our staff is an integral part of our purpose and function. Each staff member exemplifies Christ in his daily tasks and serves as not only a blessing by his service, but also a real-life example of the product of the excellent education we seek to provide. Our faculty and staff value the contributions of each parent and seek to ensure that the family and school work together in tandem to educate the whole child. Our faculty and staff motivate the students to reach higher standards and achieve greater goals in their lives, while teaching them the value of their own souls and the souls of those around them. Ultimately, our faculty and staff’s desire is to see well-rounded, well-educated, and well-prepared students graduate with a passion for excellence and serving the Lord.

Communication with our faculty and staff is key to a healthy relationship and the excellent education we seek to provide. Please contact any of our faculty, staff, or administrators whenever a need or question arises.
